The New Year is at our doorsteps. Let us usher it in, embrace it and give it a seat in our living rooms all the world over. Come on in the year 2004 and be a blessing in our lives.

What do we expect from you, 2004 ? Our expectations are simple: joy and laughter to hold the bodies together, grains and vegetables to fill the belly enough, an active brain that is inventive and a feerless mind as high as the Himalayas. Is'nt it simple really, 2004 ?

And a few things more: no war, no hatred, no malnutrition, no deprivation, no discremenation and no domination. Every minde is free; every soul is clean; every belly is full;every body is sheltered and every day is a D day.

Is'nt it utopia ? It may look like that in the present scenario but this is not the end of the road.. Can't this dream be transformed into reality if all of us strive for it heart and soul ? After all we belong to the kingdom of the KING where all His sons and daughters are little kings and He is merciful.

Year 2004, these are my sincere and serious feelings which are shared by my wife and the community of Bengalees that I belong to and my fellow citizens in India.

Let the year 2004 be peaceful. plentiful and prosperous for all my Brothers and Sisters in the world.
