Hello, Citizens of The Earth

I present myself to you all on the auspicious day Lord Jesus was born on 2003 years ago and He continues to bless the world even today, Long Live Jesus and Merry Christmas.

I hail from Calcutta, rechristened Kolkata, the great metropolis in the land of the Bengalees who thrive on intellect in the Indian subcontinent. Bengalees dwell in the state of West Bengal in India and just across a porous border in the sovereign republic of Bangladesh. And they dwell in every nook and corner of the world. Indeed , I belong to a Global Community.

God incarnate Chaitanyadev, the rebel philosopher Vivekananda, the great poet genius Rabindranath Tagore.the film making maestro Satysajit Ray and the renowned welfare economist Amartya Sen belong to this community. I am a proud Bengalee who believes in liberty, fraternity and equality: we are citizens of the world.

And, ofcourse Mother Tereasa who stayed here in my city -The City of Joy;:Calcutta, served the people here for decades together. We saw her grow from a dedicated missionary to become a saint.

Brothers and Sisters of the World, call me when you need me in any matter on earth, specially on Bengal, india and Asia . I shall be right there to extend not-so-long arms of mine.

So long for the day. Have a good season and enjoy.

May God bless you all.

Hi iam a student doing my graduation in media studies. Though in your 'open call' you are repeating that you believe in world citizenship, why is that you keep on repeating that you are a proud Bengali. I hail from Kerala, 'God's own country', but when asked about my orgin, i would rather say that i am an indian with great pride. Ido believe in universal citizenship. But it is a pity that only young revolutionary people with no real sense and some really sensible people think about this fact. White or Black, all of us are born into the world for one sole purpose and one day all of us have to die. What is all the fuss about? We waste 75% of our life doing futile things. I would recommend you to stop using cliches like world citizenship and when you need me call me. One little article is not going to create any difference. For action speaks louder than words!
